Planned and constructed during the eighties, Bear is Driving was engineered to fight Communism via complex and epic rock music. Turned loose after the end of the Cold War, they roamed the countryside aimlessly, a wake of destruction marking their passage, until 2003. At that time predetermined variables realigned to focus their efforts, this time opposing the military industrial-complex as an instrumental rock four-piece. Bringing a breadth of musical influences together, they decided to forgo a lead singer and to instead craft long form songs that actually challenged their musicianship. They blend odd time signatures and tightly composed melodic interplay with a cacophony of sample collages into surprisingly cohesive music. Listeners will find themselves bobbing their heads in seven and humming along to layered feedback.
