In 2014, Alexander Mahan, better known as YandereDev, started angels;breath as a way of venting out his emotions. Very little is known about angels;breath. In fact, despite being recorded sometime in 2014 or 2015, angels;breath was not released to the public until 2020, when the self-titled album angels;breath was leaked on spotify. Since then, two more songs have been leaked onto this spotify page, but it's unclear when the actual time of recording was for the tracks. Mahan wrote all the songs and played bass guitar. Some have speculated he also sings on these songs, but he has never confirmed nor denied this. It's not known who played any other instruments in or mixed & produced angels;breath. Mahan has stated in a livestream (now lost to time) that failed relationships & a search for love, and internet culture are two major influences when writing his music. "A major influence for me was Chris Chan. I think if you look past the whole Sonichu-retardation thing, Chris's 'love-quest' is very relatable." This statement was made before the incident in which Christine Chandler took sexual advantage of his alzheimer-ridden mother.
