Zoë Poledouris (born August 25, 1973), also known as Zoë Roché, is an American actress, musician, and film composer. She is the daughter of film composer Basil Poledouris. Born in Los Angeles, she is the elder of Basil Poledouris' two daughters. During her childhood, she was active as a competitive figure skater and often interpreted her father's compositions through movement on ice. At the age of nine, she played a piece on the recorder for her father that was adapted into the French horn counter-melody for "The Orgy", a composition featured in the film "Conan the Barbarian" (1982). As a result, she received a co-writing credit for the piece and became one of the youngest members of Broadcast Music, Inc. (BMI). After graduating from Bennington College, she began sharing her demo recordings with composer Christopher Tyng, who assisted in producing her work. One of her songs, "Into It", a dance track, was selected by director Paul Verhoeven for inclusion in the 1997 film "Starship Troopers", in which she also makes a cameo appearance during a school dance scene. The film also features her cover of "I Have Not Been To Oxford Town", a song originally by David Bowie. Additional films that include her musical contributions are "Shadow of Doubt" (1998) and "Cecil B. DeMented" (2000). She also composed music and played a lead role in the film "Down and Out with the Dolls" (2001). Poledouris currently writes and performs music with her husband in their Los Angeles-based band, Loon
