"What does Ziel100 mean?" ...is perhaps the most common question, 33-year-old german DJ and producer Matthias Gustke is being asked. To explain the confusion: in German Ziel means goal, target, destination... 100 guests on the list? To answer this in a short way: his DJ name goes back to an illegal Graffiti signature he used for spraying in the 80ies, when he was a highly involved member of the local HipHop Scene. After this pseudonym appeared on flyers for parties he played at, his name was manifested till today. This is all the secret. After breaking up with HipHop in 1990, he started his career in the first generation of Technolovers in Germany's Epicentre of the Movement: Frankfurt. With several releases on highly respected labels (such as Andreas Kauffeldts "Aural Satisfaction Records" or Thomas P. Heckmann "Selected Circuits") and Remixes, for example of Gloria Gaynors "I am what I am", he established himself as "the guy, who did this Electro Thing". Influenced by HipHopBeats from his past his DJ Sets sound very percussive and explosively electronical - not to forget the additives of funky Grooves. And sometimes he shows his love to the music with wild private performances on his decks... but that’s another story!
