Zaruhi Babayan was born in 1975, in Yerevan, Armenia. Her path of singing art started in 1987 in the Jazz-pop choir of the H. Igityan Aesthetic Centre, in which she participated as a soloist in many contest-festivals and won the best prizes. 1992-1997 she studied and graduated from the Biological Faculty of the State Pedagogical University named after Kh. Abovyan. 2000-2003 she studied and graduated from the Jazz Faculty of the Komitas State Conservatory of Yerevan. Since 1993, she has been working as a soloist in the State Song Theatre. Since 1994, she had a combined job of a group leader of “Vaghordyan Katilner” and “Jazzle” teenage variety groups of the Aesthetic Centre. Since 1995, she has been having solo concerts in the State Song Theatre and she had a touring concert in USA, England, Russia and all the regions of Armenia. In 2000, she won the first prize of the Lyric Genre in the “Sayat-Nova” contest. In 2001, she won the “Best Folk Song Refinement” for the song “Shalakho” in the “Krunk” Festival. In 2001, she released her first album “Chanaparh Depi” (“The road to”), which includes folk and variety songs. In 2002, she was recognized the Best Singer of the year in the “American Music Awards”. The same year, the “Chanaparh Depi” (“The road to”), album was recognized the Best in the pop-folk category. In 2003, she had solo concerts in Lebanon, Germany and England.
