Art hurts – this we know. “Essay on the Night and the Day” (ESNd) is a violent and sincere portrayal of the bond between three childhood friends: Adner, Lucas, and Renan. Zambrotta’s eternal album (zbtt) dragged on for six long years in the quest to immortalize songs that serve as manifestos of their own creative ambitions. The work, self-contained in its artistic process, portrays every stage of the average artist’s dream who stands on the edge of their obsession: the naivety of dreaming, impostor fear, material nightmares, and the hope for redemption.
