Zachary J. Zerzan is a songwriter from Portland, Oregon. His debut album "Crooked Smile" was released last February to rave reviews from his mother, parole officer and at least a handful of the rakish barflies and hardscrabble bartenders who have attended his weekday shows at various Portland honky tonks and other venues of ill-repute. If Bruce Springsteen, Leonard Cohen, Steve Earle and John Prine were all brothers, and Gram Parsons and Bob Dylan used to go hang out and jam with those brothers, and if there was an annoying little brother that could never measure up to those guys, but was always trying pathetically to hang out with them and show them new songs that he had written, that little brother would be Zachary J.
