Known for his poignant and often controversial songs that critique injustice and violence, Yusbi has emerged as a significant cultural figure in Aceh, using his music to amplify the voices of the marginalized. Yusbi's musical journey began in the mid-1990s when he served as a radio announcer at Baiturrahman Radio in Banda Aceh from 1994 to 1998.
