He also makes tunes which have been known to include a breakbeat or two. Now signed to several labels all over the world, his sound is more diverse and eclectic than ever before. With a classical music education as a choral scholar in the one of the finest choirs in the world, its safe to say he can hum a tune too. Notorious for aggresive beat programming, firing basslines and a melodic and expressive style his productions have garnered support from DJs everywhere. 32 yr old Alex Virr (aka Youthful Implants) started DJing drum n bass whilst at university in Manchester in 1996. After 2 years representing on the student scene and promoting a night called Beatific he returned to London and began working on a record stall in Camden selling nu skool garage and DnB alongside Ollie Moira of Hardcore Beats. From there he met Clayton from the south london based Trouble on Vinyl / Renegade Hardware studio who offered the opportunity to work for him both as a recording artist and consultant on fledgling breaks label Octagon. The Funkaholics were born with founding members Joe Grey and Tam Cooper (now known as Precision Cuts).
