Your Food were a punk rock band formed in Louisville, KY in the early 1980s by John Bailey, Wolf Knapp, Tari Barr and Douglas Maxson (formerly of The Dickbrains) in the environs of the Louisville Punk House. Barr departed the group and was replaced by drummer Charles Schultz (also formerly of The Dickbrains). The group privately released its only full length, Poke It With A Stick, in 1983. The record received some positive reviews and an East Coast tour followed. The 1983 release is currently out of print. Four Your Food tracks appear on the 2007 CD-only compilation Bold Beginnings: An Incomplete Collection Of Louisville Punk 1978-1983 on Noise Pollution. Drummer Schultz and bassist Wolf were later also members of Antietam, another group with a much longer discography and Louisville connections (notably, in guitarist and composer Tara Key). Douglas Maxson was one of six editors of the exhibit, "White Glove Test: Louisville Punk Flyers 1978β1994," which opened on Feb 6, 2015 at the Kentucky Museum of Art and Craft in Louisville, KY. An expanded book using the same title was published by Drag City in 2015. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
