Artist
Young Gator is a rapper from Detroit. Michigan signed to 039 Records. Daevon “Young Gator” Ming was born September 22, 1987, in Detroit, Michigan. By the tender age of ten, Young Gator had suffered the greatest loss imaginable – the death of his parents/ Almost immediately Young Gator turned to music to fill the tremendous void in his life. Before his eleventh birthday he had recorded his first song and was turning the pain from his youth into poetry on the mic. At fourteen, Young Gator was holding it down and captivating live audiences. He may have been new on the scene, but he could rock the mic and had recorded over thirty songs with a local record label known as 039 Records. None of the songs were released by the label. Somehow the music made its way into cars, bars and clubs and Young Gator’s sound was being heard throughout Detroit. The leak forced 039 to bump up the release date for Young Gator’s album and debut. “FRESH OUT DA POT” dropped earlier this year. The singles “Like Ugh” and “Bows Come In” have gotten spins on Clear Channel and Radio One Stations, in select markets and his video “Try” can be seen airing on several local video shows. He has added more than one hundred songs to his catalogue and is currently in the studio working on his much anticipated sophomore album.
