Young Cardamom

Young Cardamom is the former musical alias of Zohran Mamdani, the mayor of New York City and the son of filmmaker Mira Nair. Mamdani began rapping under this name in 2015, collaborating with Ugandan rapper HAB (Hussein Abdul Bar). The duo released an EP titled Sidda Mukyaalo in 2016, which featured the song "#1 Spice," included in Disney's Queen of Katwe soundtrack. Mamdani retired the Young Cardamom moniker around 2019.
