Young Animal was formed in NYC in 2010, yet the music has been a decade in the making. Young Animal's sound is made up of several elements that come together to be universally enjoyed: romantic classical harmony, latin and soul rhythms, virtuosic rock guitar, and a dynamic vocal that goes from whisper soft to harsh, aggressive screams. When Richard Pinero (vocals/guitar) and Scott Unverzagt (guitar) came together to create Young Animal, they were already quite familiar with one another, having been best friends since grade school. They spent several years collaborating, composing and perfecting their sound. After several line-up changes, Richard and Scott combined forces with Heather Swift, a hard-hitting female drummer from Boston, Massachusetts. The current line-up hit the NYC rock scene in 2011 and is working hard to push the band forward. In 2010 they completed a full length LP entitled 'Artifact' and released it for free via soundcloud.com/young-animal-band. The band is currently producing a second full length LP entitled 'Meridian' slated to be completed in Spring 2012.
