Yoshimi!… That's a Japanese girl name that has been taken over by a certain Niek Hilkmann, a 19 year old ex-student Persian language and culture from Rotterdam. Why he specifically chose this name has been asked many times, but has also been sparsly answered... But where he uses the name for raises no questions: Making music, which he loves a lot! Together with his trusty computer and instruments he records all his music track by track after which he makes songs with them! (Without ever using samples by other musicians) These previously mentioned instruments include things such as Nieks beloved 12-string guitar, conga's, harmonium, cello, drums, synths, ukulele, tarbuka, bass, bongo's, qua zen qin, xylophone and harmonica. But there are also some which he can play less well, such as the Mandoline, Accordeon, Harmonium, Trumpet, Mbira, Dizi and Euphonium... He has currently devoted himself to learning to play these better for you! But in any case, he does almost everything by himself, recording, mixing, practicing and I don't know what; alone at his house. (but not on the attic) 'Cause the thing is that he isn't a dusty old attic-recording house-mouse.
