Artist
Yori-Aki Matsudaira was born in Tokyo in March 27th 1931. He studied the biology at Tokyo Metropolitan University. He is self-taught in both piano and composition. From 1957 to 60, he used of serial procedures. The next 6 years he interested in the indeterminacy. For 10 years from 1966, he composed with the combining technique, as defined by American artist, Robert Rauschenberg. From 1972, he turned to the new modal music. Recently, he has been establishing the pitch-interval technique as the extension of the modal technique.
