Fatma Yonca Evcimik (born 16 September 1963 in Istanbul, Turkey) is a Turkish pop singer, dancer, actress, television presenter and producer. She studied dance and ballet at the State Conservatory of Mimar Sinan University in Istanbul. Before launching her music career, she worked as a sales agent for a life-insurance company. Her stage career began early: between 1978 and 1990 she worked as a professional dancer and actress in musicals and theatrical productions. In 1991 she released her debut album Abone, which became a major commercial success in Turkey. Notable subsequent albums include Kendine Gel (1993), Yonca Evcimik ’94 (1994), I’m Hot For You (1995) and Günaha Davet (1998). She also starred in the TV series Çılgın Bediş from 1996 until 3 March 2001. Yonca Evcimik remains one of the memorable figures in Turkish pop culture, known for her energetic performances, dance-influenced style and multimedia presence.
