Artist
Colombian pop singer Yolanda Rayo started singing at a very young age, deciding to pursue a career in show business after winning a local school contest. During her first years as a professional, Rayo participated in different bands, such as Los Exclusivos de Alex, Yajé, Chucho Nuncia y la Fuerza Mayor, Los Diablos del Caribe, and Grupo Fuego. After signing up to local label Sonolux, the artist recorded a self-titled debut album in 1999, getting the song “Voy a Ganarme Tu Amor” climbing on Colombian charts. That same year the singer was voted Artist of the New Millennium by Latin magazine TV y Novelas. A sophomore effort, Tiempos Mejores, appeared in summer 2001.
