A native New Yorker, she trained classically at LaGuardia High School of Music & the Arts. She has performed at various venues throughout New York City and NJ – including an impromptu one at the world famous BB Kings Club in NYC! The top selling original tune "Bring Ur Lovin' Home" is her most popular hit and has been played on countless radio stations all over the world, winning the Akademia Award for Best R&B/Soul song in April 2013. “Why” was her first original song released in Dec. 2011. Years ago, after ending a short term relationship on a sour note, she wrote* the tune which sparked the beginning of her songwriting and recording career. The originality and authenticity of “Why” resulted in Yolanda R. being selected as the Arzuk.com "Artist of the Week" for April 22-28, 2013. Her second most popular tune, “Meandering”, landed in two Top 10 radio countdowns in 2012 and 2014. As a recording artist she has released 3 EP’s. In July 2012 she released her debut CD/EP entitled “Yolanda’s Voice” which is a compilation of originals, standards and some creatively reworked covers. This recording won the X-Poze-ing Music Award in August 2013 for Best R&B Album. Her mini EP "A Few of My Thoughts..."
