Bio: · 1981 – 1984: Becomes a member of Eurojazz (Jazz band of European Union),represanting Greece, touring around Europe. · 1984 – 1988: He forms the group ISKRA. The band toured Greece and Europe. He releases his debut albums ‘A New Day’ and ‘Parastasis’, and records on numerous albums as a session musician. · 1988: He releases the album ‘Horizon’ (compositions for Big Band) with Greek and international guests. · 1988 – 1990: He is performing with his group around Greece. · 1992: Releases the album ‘Amorosa’, with compositions for a sextet and symphonic orchestra. · 1993: Performs his works ‘Topazi’ and ‘Dizzy – Miles’ at the Megaron (Athens Concert Hall), written for string and jazz orchestra, conducted by A. Baltas. · 1995: Releases the album ‘Stand – Art’ with Jazz standards. · 1996: Composes the music for the performance ‘Fantasy & Fouga – Dimitris Mitropoulos’. He orchestrates and participates in the work of P. Koukos, premiered at the Athens Concert Hall, with Maria Farantouri as a singer. · 1997: Composes the works ‘Echoes’ and ‘Eastern of New Land’ at the request of Stavros Xarhakos, the artistic director of KOEM orchestra (State Orchestra of Greek Music). He founds the "Art Music School - Y. Fakanas" where he teaches, and is the Artistic Director of the Cotemporary Department of the School and of the Music Hall ‘Athina-live’.
