YEW UNVEIL THEIR NEW ALBUM BAM BAM BAM From the stage to the studio Since its beginnings, YEW has always been all about the raw energy that sparkles on stage. In the studio, things were less obvious, less clear. As if, in music there were two opposite paths in the creative process that could hardly interact with each other. But these different ways, and none the less, do bring their own experiences. In 2013, The Fall, the first album with the current line up (seven members), delivered an amazing duo with Arno (Between Up and Down) and was followed by a tour in France, Switzerland, England and the big festivals in French-speaking Belgium (Dour, BSF, Couleur Café, Ardentes, …). On the musical front, The Fall was the first step of a turning point for the band. It was a rebirth, YEW grew up between rock and traditional music. There were many ways to explore and the possibilities were open. The Fall left the band at a crossing point. After a much-needed break, they set up on a path, leaving the other options behind. From this path emerged BAM BAM BAM. The challenge on this album was to be able to channel the dynamics of a show, to bring the energy and spontaneity of the live instant inside the studio. The tracks were then recorded during two sessions with an audience. A truly unique experience.
