"Our shows are not focused on knowledge, nor music. If you want to know about music, go to other shows. You'll find all that at other shows. Our knowledge of music is both fragmened and fuzzy. It can't be trusted. We're not so good at interpreting song, But if there were some technique that permitted everybody who knew it to write wonderful songs, we'd want to be the first to know. We really doubt there's a technique to writing songs." Yeow Meow was formed as a joke. Benjamin Thompson, of The Rational Academy, wrote 5 songs that ran for a total of 8 minutes and recruited a couple of close friends. in their short lived life of 6 months and 1 rehearsal they managed to headline Brisbane's famous venue The Zoo, appear in a fashion magazine photo shoot before even playing a show, have the PA at Ric's Cafe turned off on them (they were also later baned from the venue) and win best Punk Rock song at the Queensland Music Awards in 2009 for their track "Boredoms"....without even having released a record. They did a cracking version of Free Kitten's "proper band". They were the greatest band in Brisbane ever.
