“ALIVE” serves as the first official collaboration between New Orleans rapper YoungBoy Never Broke Again and Chicago rapper Kanye West. The track was released without any prior announcement on Instagram on May 21, 2025. Shortly after the track’s release, Atlanta rapper Playboi Carti took to Instagram to release his version of the track through Instagram while clarifying that he recorded the actual version of the track alongside YoungBoy. Regarding West’s version of the track, Carti accused West of stealing it from him and stated that he had instead recorded an unauthorized remix, with West having recorded over several of YoungBoy’s lines while completely removing Carti’s verse.
