It is not often in music that you find a singer with as much drive as talent, but for 21-year-old up incoming singer Yashi, that needle in a haystack has been found in her. With a name that professes that of being respectful and good, her honest voice; full of raw emotion and heart stirring abilities, is destined to become one recognized in her time. Through a hard work ethic, a strong base, and her quirky individual style, Yashi is ready for the rest of the world to follow her tune. Born and raised on the Southside of Chicago, a place known for its long-standing contributions to the essence of real music, Yashi is a self-taught vocalist. Only discovering she could sing at the age of 12, her voice lessons included matching the tones and escalating notes of those she heard on the radio and watched on T.V. While her voice grew strong and increased in range so did her ability to win track races. Hailing from an athletically inclined family Yashi initially thought she found her niche in track and field. Winning championships and progressing into a track star sprinter she was convinced that her athletic family genes had decided her path in life, until singing became all that she could think about. Taught early on the importance of putting effort into what you believe in and want to accomplish, Yashi’s mind was made up after her junior year in college.
