山根万理奈 (Yamane Marina) is a Japanese singer-songwriter also known as 山音まー (Yamane Mah) on Youtube (ID 7208133) and Nico Nico Douga (ID 山音まー). Marina was born on 17 July 1989 in Matsue City, Shimane Prefecture. Marina has a dream to become a singer since she was in elementary school. She picked up guitar in her third year in junior high school. Initially, her dream the singer was to formed a duo with female classmates, conduct and live on the street. However, she also have another dream of being a teacher, so her dream of being a singer was put away for the time being, in her heart. After graduating from high school, Marina was enrolled at The University of Shimane. In 2009, she formed a light music band. At the same time, she started her YouTube channel (ID 7208133). She adopted the style of playing Acoustic guitar while sitting crossed-legged. She doesn't not show her face in the videos, creating a mystery of how she looks like amount fans. Her channel slowly became popular and received great response. As of June 21, 2012, her channel had more than 4.3 million views! She was scouted in and debut at BURGER INN RECORDS. On 27 July 2011, Marina's released her 1st single "Joan of Arc" (ジャンヌダルク) from Warner Music Japan, which serves as her major debut.
