College students, budding artists, astute businessmen and gentlemen of honor….this is the only way to properly describe the members of the rap duo, YLS. Kwasi ‘K-check’ Chabwera and Daryan ‘Drizzle’ Wilkinson have developed a love of hip hop early in life and in a few years have turned raw talent into a force unseen in the genre. Creating lyrics and beats that depart from the status quo of violence and unadulterated sex, allowing the listener a glimpse into the true essence of the young adult male. YLS is more than a carbon copy of what is currently floating about attempting to make their mark in the industry by regurgitating embellished tales of untruths and implausible grandeur. This duo embraces their commitment to education, moral integrity and honesty. Coming together (approximately) five years ago in with former members buTTah & Detinator, the legacy of hard hitting yet precise lyrics began. Although the membership has been shaved, there has never been any love lost. Due to the fact that the group was assembled during a time of adolescence, factors beyond the control of the individual members, a physical distance was placed amidst Drizzle, K-check and their former “brothers in rhyme”. Although the loss weighed on their minds, YLS continued to move forward expanding their brand and fan base.
