Artist
Xanthoula Dakovanou is a singer and composer with an international carreer. She has recorded until now three personal albums in Paris and she has participated to 13 more albums around Europe as an invited singer. The specific repertory that she sings is composed of vocal traditions of Greece, the Balkans and Eastern Mediterranean and her compositions are contemporary musical creations based on these traditions. She is a doctor (Medical School of Athens), Music therapist (Sorbonne Paris 5 University) and holds a thesis in Psychoanalysis in the particular scientific field of ‘Music and Psychoanalysis’ (Paris Sorbonne 7 University). She is a visiting lecturer at Paris Sorbonne 5 University, the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and the Institute of Music Therapy of Nantes. She has written numerous scientific articles concerning ‘Voice and Psychoanalysis’ and ‘Music and Psychoanalysis’. Furthermore, she is the artistic director of Mousa Cie in Athens, as well as Kerasovo Festival in Epirus, Greece.
