Series 5 finalists of the X Factor recorded the single ‘Hero’ (originally by Mariah Carey). The single was released in November 2008 to raise money for Help For Heroes, a charity which helps provide support for wounded servicemen and women, and went straight to #1 and to date has sold over 770,000 copies and raised over £1 million pounds. The contestants were as follows: Girls: Alexandra Burke, Diana Vickers & Laura White. Boys: Eoghan Quigg, Austin Drage & Scott Bruton. Groups: JLS, Girlband & Bad Lashes.
