Written in Fire is an American progressive-metal band from Salt Lake City, formed in 2005. The band was formed by guitarist/songwriter Oscar Arce, drummer Mosiah Marin, bassist/singer Nicolas Araneda and guitarist Jimmy Araneda and influenced by an old school heavy metal and the neo-metal sound. Written in Fire tries to bring back the musicianship of harmonies, guitar solos and soothing melodies of early days and combine it with the raw attitude of aggressive vocals and heavy riffs. Constantly trying to draw apart from the wave of hardcore metal bands, Written in Fire focuses on the what is behind the singer, creating melodies that build upon each other to reach a unique sound while stirring up memories from other great progressive metal bands. The band has released 2 extended play records during 2008 and 2009 and are currently working their debut album while gaining some exposure from local showcases.
