Early career Following his debut album Ending Story (2000) and Farewell Kingdom (2001), Maeda continued to release music at a steady pace in the early 2000s, including Dream’s End Come True (2002) and The Lie Lay Land (2005). Around this period, he also explored alternate project names such as World’s End Boyfriend and Wonderland Falling Yesterday, reflecting his tendency to treat identity as fluid and conceptual. He gained wider international attention through his 2005 collaboration with the Japanese post-rock band Mono, Palmless Prayer / Mass Murder Refrain. The project led to extensive touring, including a European tour
