Artist
There are multiple artists with this name: 1) (The) World At A Glance are an Australian 3-piece Punk/Emo band based in Melbourne that started in December 2008. Since the release of their tape in June 2012, they have delved into a more artistic performance style involving projections, and are due to release a experimental film to be released in July, as well as a 4-way split w/ Talons Like Antlers, Shut-up Jackson & Feverteeth and then from those releases a 7" of current songs calling on their strong influence of At the Drive-in. Keeping in mind they are called "The World at a Glance" to seperate themselves from "World at a Glance' (see below) The current line up is : Scott - Vocals, Guitar, Liam - Vocals, Bass, Reece - Drums http://www.last.fm/music/The+World+At+A+Glance 2) World At A Glance were a New York quartet from the late Eighties, who had a deep desire to be British dance poseurs. As singer David Ilku affects a mild finishing school accent, Michael Lawrence shoots off impressive guitarisms that would sound at home on an Ultravox record; guest keyboardists (including producer Chris Lord Alge) fill in the stylistic gaps. (For credibility's sake, drummer Doug Bowne was a Lounge Lizard.) While inarguably accomplished, World at a Glance, with its echoes of Duran Duran, Simple Minds, Japan, Bill Nelson, U2 and others, is a little redundant. However their music is definately worth listening too. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA
