about

Chris Palestis (ca.1962-1983) also known as Wizz-o (the name of his one man band) was an american outsider musician from Livingston, New Jersey. Chris worked as a stock clerk at the Sam Goody record store in the Livingston Mall. He was a big fan of the free-form radio station WFMU, to which he send home recordings of him singing and playing acoustic guitar along with then popular pop and rock songs, which received massive airplay on the station for years. He also handed tapes to musician and co-worker R. Stevie Moore. He passed away from Leukemia at the age of 21. Recordings of him singing songs such as "Don't You Want Me", "Under Pressure", "Do Ya Think I'm Sexy" and "I Love Rock N Roll", have become cult favorites amongst outsider music fans.
