Why this name? A hyperactive gerbil whispered it into our ears, whilst pilfering the last of the pecan nuts. Do you play live? Despite our better judgment we indeed play live. How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry? Reach, communication, variety and generally over compressed music... Band History: Formed from the molten ejaculate of the Incredible Tractors. Wizards of Mass Distraction have been performing live from around 2005. Having played diverse venues from the Social Forum Cymru in Aberystwyth to a bar entirely lit with UV light. Many collaborative events with Robert Minhinnick, award winning poet and novelist. Your influences? Experimental, dance, electronica, Talking Heads, Afro Celt Sound System, BBC Radiophonic Workshop, A Certain Ratio, Kraftwerk, funk, Brian Eno, 23 Skidoo, filmic, David Byrne, Air and the Wombles. Equipment used: Gurglers, whizzers, bamboozlers and 24bit Ring Modulators. Anything else...? The Wizards are Richard Thomas and Peter Morgan aided and enabled by many other collaborators.
