Winterdagen is a Dutch neo-classical group fronted by composer Mink Steekelenburg. The group produces a soft and melancholic palette of sounds by exploring the fringes between piano- and electronic music. Over the course of the past years Winterdagen have made name for themselves playing a ton live shows at Dutch venues and festivals such as Oerol, Motel Mozaique and Grasnapolsky. In 2016 the group released a first EP on Swedish label 1631 Recordings. The last couple of years, Steekelenburg has focused on writing music for film, dance (performances at Amsterdam Fringe, Eye Filmmuseum, Centre Pompidou ie.), and creating Foarlôn, an audiovisual performance which was perfomed 10 times at Oerol 2018. On top of that Winterdagen has also been working closely with Rotterdam poet M., creating a unique blend of poetry and neo-classical/electronic music. Now Winterdagen is finally gearing up for the release of new music. Starting with Clearing, a single on Waterway Records on 6 March, and the Phase In EP (produced by cellist/synthesist Maarten Vos) on 1631 Recordings in May. A single and video with M. for Boijmans van Beuningen and a collaborative EP will follow. https://open.spotify.com/artist/7a7gDKeePieVVQd7P7WBPR?si=SIhFf3lHSl2MpMUyJhB8Bw https://soundcloud.com/winterdagen User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
