There are at least two artists using the name Winter Camp. [01] The Surprising Effects of Sympathy What is Winter Camp if not a story of friendship and good fortune? The story of seven musicians with their own personal musical past that the whims of fate have gathered together. Indeed, if Winter Camp’s music sounds so refreshing and moving it has to be because of the variety of influences and tastes from which the best was taken and pushed into a relevant unity –just like a group of friends which takes shape and blooms with time. When in 2004, Nicolas Galina had to put his parisian band Temple Temple aside because of his lead singer’s constant touring with another band, Herman Dune, he started spending more and more time at his friend’s Cyril Guillaneuf who had just quit famous French rock band Luke after working as the keyboardist and main arranger on their future gold album. The dream between the two was instant. Ideas flew strong and fast, and in a few months they’d recorded some very beautiful and interesting material. The Parisian pop circle didn’t wait long to react enthusiastically and the project took a more serious turn.
