Artist
Winston “Flames” Jarrett, one of reggae music’s true pioneers, has witnessed Jamaica’s music transform from the ska explosion of the early 60’s through the vibrant periods of rock steady and reggae. Not content to merely watch this musical revolution, Jarrett proceeded to form one of Jamaica’s most popular groups, Alton Ellis and the Flames. In the early 1970’s Jarrett recorded over a hundred songs under his own name and pseudonyms released both in Jamaica and England, working with Joe Gibbs, Lee Scratch Perry and Duke Reid. Jarrett’s music has been released under the name Righteous Holmes, the Soul Stars, T-Man and the T-Bones, Adam and Eve, as well as his own labels, Attra, and Human Rights and Humble . . .
