Winabego was formed in the Spring of 2002 . They rehearsed and developed their early songs for a whole year before playing their first gig in April 2003 supporting The Keys in The Railway Club, Bangor. Since those early days, Winabego have gigged extensively and recently played their first headlining gigs at Clwb Ifor Bach, Cardiff. In May, 2004, the band's Sesiwn C2 was aired, featuring an early version of live favourite, 'Unarddeg Dyn i Lawr' as one of three exclusive tracks. They can be heard by logging on to http://www.bbc.co.uk/cymru/radiocymru/c2. In June, they went into Stiwdio Sain to start work on their debut E.P. November 2004 saw the much anticipated release of their debut E.P, 'Hyder Bregus' which has been Huw Stephens's 'Record of the Week' on his radio show. The E.P was produced by Dyfrig Wyn Evans of Topper fame (and Dylan, Winabego guitarist's younger brother). Tracks include Llawenydd Achlysurol, Dim Cytundeb, Symud Mewn Gofod, Unarddeg Dyn i Lawr , and Lucifer's Lament. Winabego are Dylan Wyn Evans, Aled Wyn Jones, Meic Parry and Llew Roberts. Winabego returned to the studio in early January 2005 to start work on the imminent first album.
