Wim de Bie (born The Hague, The Netherlands, 1939 - passed away 2023) is a legendary Dutch comedian and writer. Every Dutchman knows De Bie as half of the comic duo, Van Kooten & De Bie (a.k.a. Koot & Bie), with Kees van Kooten. The duo recorded sketches for TV and LP, as well as songs. De Bie started his career as a radio comedian at the program Multiplex in 1963. Soon his schoolfriend Kees van Kooten joined him. From 1969 they also worked on television, and from 1974 they had their own television program, going by the subsequent names "De Klisjeemannetjes", "Het Simplisties Verbond", "Koot en Bie" and "Keek op de Week". Their decision to call it quits, in 1998, was regarded as the end of an era in The Netherlands. Wim de Bie remains active as a writer.
