Artist
Keyboardist William (Billy) Lyall was a founding member of 70's pop group Pilot. Having had success with them on the albums 'Pilot (From The Album Of The Same Name)' and 'Second Flight' which produced hits such as 'Magic', 'Just A Smile' and of course the number 1, ' January' he left the band. In 1976 William produced a solo album entitled 'Solo Casting'. One track from that album, 'Maniac (Come Back)' appeared on Pilot's third album 'Morin Heights'. Both 'Solo Casting' and 'Morin Heights' were critically well received but achieved little commercial success and are now hard to obtain. William died of an Aids related illness in 1989.
