Wild Billy Childish & CTMF is the current musical project of the prolific British artist, poet, and musician Billy Childish. Formed in 2013, the band serves as a primary vehicle for Childish’s signature garage-punk and lo-fi sound, which he describes as "the epitome of modern: the sound of yesterday, tomorrow!". Band Members & Origins The group is a trio featuring Childish alongside long-term collaborators who have played in several of his previous bands: Billy Childish: Vocals and guitar. Nurse Julie (Julie Hamper): Bass and vocals (Childish’s wife). Wolf Howard: Drums. The name CTMF stands for The Chatham Forts, a name Childish originally conceived in 1976 while researching local military fortifications in Kent, though he did not use it for a band until 37 years later. Alternative interpretations of the acronym include "Copyright Termination Front" and "Clarity Through Fuzz". CTMF is highly prolific, having released over 10 albums and dozens of singles since their inception. Their music is characterized by its "punk garage immediacy" and raw, unpolished production.
