Background Whitehill Grove are a four-piece indie rock band from Musselburgh, Scotland. The current line up is: Callum Fergusson - Lead Guitar/VocalsDanny Gilles - Bass Guitar/Backing VocalsSeth Allen - GuitarEthan Deane - Drums After performing as a semi-acoustic duo, Callum and Danny decided on the bus journey back from a successful busking session in Edinburgh, that the time had come to expand, and form a ‘proper band’. During that same trip they formed the band name, a combination of their home addresses, and ‘Whitehill Grove’ was born. Musselburgh Grammar (East Lothian) were fortuitous to have several musically talented young lads in the same year, and soon old friends Ethan was invited in on drums, followed by Seth on guitar – the concoction of Whitehill Grove was complete. Using real-life experience mixed with the imagined thoughts of TV characters in the writing of their lyrics, the boys have created their own style of indie rock, devising songs with surprising and unexpected elements to avoid an overload of any particular sound. Adding pop to punk and rap to rock, Whitehill Grove like to mix it up – insinuating intense only to shift to sunniness - the band seek to invite a range of emotions and create energy within their audience.
