There are at least two bands named "What's Up?": 1. What's Up? is a trio from Sacramento and Portland consisting of Robby Moncrieff (The Advantage, Who's Your Favorite Son, God?) on keyboards and guitar, Brian Marshall on bass guitar and Teddy Briggs on drums. What's Up?'s debut album, Content Imagination (released May 26, 2009 on Obey Your Brain) is 7 tracks of "complex, hyperactive instrumental music" that "deconstructs math rock to its core, stripping the scrawling, serpentine riffs normally associated with the subgenre down to the basic core elements: drums, guitar and (most surprisingly) a whole lot of zany keyboards." 2. What's Up? is a Japanese jazz quintet who play a '50s/'60s style of modal jazz. They have two album releases, "Music Is Real" (2007) and "Lost & Found" (2008), and their official site may be found at http://music.geocities.jp/m_is_real/whats_up.htm. Their label's Myspace page, http://www.myspace.com/commododepot, as of this writing (Nov. 19, 2008) features two tracks from their latest album.
