With a fresh approach to the bass and a fearlessness to match, Wendy has performed with international artistes like James LoMenzo (Megadeth), Mel Gayner (Simple Minds), Shaggy, Emma Shapplin and Riki Hendrix, as well as released a bass solo EP “Between Here And Then” (2008) which was given glowing reviews by Musikuz (Czech) and Bass Frontiers Magazine (US). The EP also secured her an endorsement with Yamaha Asia and KLOTZ Audio Interface Systems. Wendy is noted for her use of two-handed speed finger-tapping on the bass and extensive usage of music technology in performances from live-looping to multi-tracking on the iPhone. She has been featured on Singapore media TV/radio networks Channel News Asia, Lush 99.5FM, Redifussion, and Mediacorp News Radio 93.8 FM. Currently playing both the electric and acoustic double bass, and more recently classical double bass bowing, Wendy’s first foray into music began she was enrolled in classical piano lessons at age 6. Inspired by the music of Jamiroquai and Marcus Miller, she later went on to play the bass and has played and recorded with bands in genres as diverse as funk, soul, progressive rock, and jazz. Shows that Wendy has played at include the MTV Asia Awards, Mosaic Music Festival, Singapore Wine and Jazz Festival, ESPNStar Sports X-Games Asia and Baybeats Music Festival.
