Wellenstrom is a German musician, born in 1971. The name of his project contains two words - Wellen (waves) & Strom (river, current, stream, electricity). These words describe his passions. Electronic music, the sound of waves and living by the river. He grew up in the heart of the Ruhr Valley, a 5 Million-People-Melting-Pot in Germany, that's characterized by industry (coal mining and metal production). The industrial sounds there and the synthetic sounds of electronic music pioneers like Kraftwerk, Cluster, Harmonia, DAF, Silver Apples, Human League, Heaven 17, OMD and Giorgio Moroder inspired him to produce his own music. His music is a mixture of Krautrock, New Wave and New Romantic. WELLENSTROM is a One Man Project. Everything you here is played & programmed by Wellenstrom (synthesizers, drum machines, guitars, bass) He always sings and writes the lyrics of his songs. The songs are engineered (mixied & mastered) at his own studio, that is embedded in a wonderful landscape by the river.
