We Almost Were formed in 2011 when Si Lynch (guitar and singing) and Andy Gibbins (drums) got together to mess around jamming a few favourite tunes. When some original songs started to appear they started to take it more seriously. Joining up with bassist Jay Bignell the line up solidified and the seed of W.A.W was planted. 2013 saw the arrival of Ash Souter (guitar) and the band's first local gigs. Drawing on influences as varied as The Who, Seether, Manic Street Preachers, The Ramones, Eureka Machines, Ash, Eddie Cochran and Led Zeppelin they combine good old fashioned rock n' roll with heaviness.
