about

wawawa is a solo electronic project from Germany focused mainly on breakcore, with some elements of sister genres such as jungle and IDM. Earlier albums of his, such as his popular debut album death by desu (2021) put emphasis on lolicore and speedcore. Much of his work is themed around cats, which may be partly influenced by his friend's late cat pörrö. As is hard not to come by in lolicore, his early work is greatly influenced by goreshit, often using samples in his tracks that goreshit used himself (see also: a website of his, the goreshit library). In recent years, though, some of his obvious influences have been Squarepusher and Venetian Snares, the former of which he also often reuses samples from, and the latter of which inspired his 2024 album plastic symphonies: the evidence i was here.
