With a sound the blends the attitude of classic 70's punk (i.e. Pere Ubu, Television) the spirit of early 60's surf (The Sentinels, The Lively Ones) the mathematical tendencies of krautrock (CAN, Faust), and some curious electronic noises, Walking Catfish are making music on their own terms. Walking Catfish's founder, Shayne Soderstrom, decided to start recording on his own and posting music for free on the internet before even forming a proper band. with one e.p., a full length (http://walkingcatfish.bandcamp.com), and two full lengths with different musical foci in the works, Walking Catfish is already proving to be a prolific and elastic sounding musical outfit.
