Wake Up Hate is a metalcore band hailing from Orlando, Florida, United States. The current lineup of Wake Up Hate features Jake Adkins as the vocalist, guitarist Connor Riley, bassist Rufus Mann, and drummer Matt Klein. The band was formed in December 2018 by vocalist Jake Adkins, guitarist Matt Browning, and later joined by Triston Blaize. Prior to the formation of Wake Up Hate, Matt Browning had been part of a group called Exotype, while Triston Blaize and Jake Adkins had previous musical experience together. It was with the assistance of Andrew Wade that they finalized Wake Up Hate as their band name. The choice was not directly inspired by the song "Wake Up Hate" by Korn but rather centered around incorporating the word "hate" within the name. The band gained attention with the release of their debut single, "The Cycle," followed by "Over The Edge" and "A New Way To Hate." Each song showcases an escalating intensity and aggression while incorporating infectious hooks. Wake Up Hate draws inspiration from the late '90s and early 2000s radio rock era, channeling the spirit of bands like Three Days Grace, Breaking Benjamin, and Green Day.
