W'afande Pierre Jolivel Zahor is a French-Danish artist. He debuted in 2011 with a single "Gi' mig et Smil" together with a fellow Danish musician Kaka. In the same year he released his debut album "Du Ved Det", which reached number 4 in the Danish charts. Wafande was born January 21st, 1983 at Rigshospitalet in Copenhagen, Denmark. He is of Danish, French, Algerian, Tanzanian, Congolese, Malawian and Omanese ancestry. He has been brought up in Christiania, Copenhagen, Denmark. As an 8-year-old he moved to France with his family, where he played for the France youth national basketball team. He came back to Denmark in 2001, when he was 18 years old to pursue his musical career. His music is a mix of reggae, hip hop and pop sung in Danish, French and English. He has played as a support for acts such as Method Man, Redman, Collie Buddz, and Cali P, among others.
