Daniel Vrangsinn Salte, known widely as the bassist for black metal legends Carpathian Forest, founded Misantrof ANTIRecords in 2007 to give like-minded underground artists a venue of experimentation outside the boundaries of the traditional music industry. Perhaps the most controversial and creatively-inspired of all the music birthed by this experiment thus far have been Vrangsinn's own musical offerings. Following no clearly defined genre or style, Vrangsinn's music engages and provokes at once with juxtapositions of the grotesque and the sublime. Best described as a challenging blend of techniques and seemingly contradictory styles which reveal underlying connections between genres and styles that most listeners would never hear otherwise, he describes the music himself as a "Psycopop idiosyncracy with an ounce of psychedelic doom rock". Maintaining a strong work ethic by staying constantly involved with such projects as Secht, A Waste Of Talent, Hatepulse, Nattefrost and many others, Vrangsinn felt compelled to blaze a new musical path with his first solo album not long after founding Misantrof. Originally planned as a collection of songs he'd recorded alone in the studio, the end result was a cohesive flow of sound from one song to the next that took on a life of its own.
