Viola is rock in its purest form; unapologetic and in your face. Their lyrics defy convention, they have a pulsing rhythm section, unmistakable guitar riffs, and a live show that floors even the most hardened of concert goers. Viola seamlessly blends spiritual truths with thundering grooves, paying homage to rockers like Tool and Led Zeppelin. Lead singer, Will Carothers; guitarist, Turner McLemore; bassist, Travis Creasy; and drummer, TJ Duckett provide a musical atmosphere that is both intense and inspiring. The band began practicing in Albertville, Alabama in 2004, but the Vision of Viola started in a small cabin at a place called Camp Ney-A-Ti in 2002. The four members of Viola recorded their demo which includes five original songs in November of 2005. Viola has created a dedicated group of fans from across the Southeast. This fan base continues to grow with every performance. In addition to Viola’s success in building a committed fan base, they have won several battle of the bands competitions. The band’s first show was a battle at Snead State in Boaz, Alabama in 2005; they won, and repeated in 2006. In 2007 and 2008 they headlined the Snead State battle of the bands. During the summer of 2006, the members of Viola were busy organizing the Bradley Dupree Music Festival in Florence, Alabama as an effort to raise money for cerebral palsy.
